The Indiana Pacers have agreed to a contract extension with head coach Frank Vogel, the team announced Monday afternoon. Terms of the deal weren't announced, per team policy, but the deal should keep the third-year Pacers coach in Indiana for the foreseeable future.

Since taking over as head coach of the Pacers, Frank Vogel has turned Indiana into one of the East’s best teams. On Monday, the franchise rewarded him with a contract extension.

“I’m honored that Donnie, Kevin and Mr. Simon have such belief and faith in me to be their coach in the foreseeable future,” Vogel said through the Pacers’ official Twitter feed. “We’ve established a great connection with our community the last two years, both on and off the court and I look forward to continuing that.”
With a 62-38 record through his first 100 regular-season games in Indiana, it’s not surprising that Vogel has the strong support of team president Donnie Walsh, general manager Kevin Pritchard and owner Herb Simon. In his first two seasons leading Indiana, the team made the postseason both times, nearly reaching the Eastern Conference Finals last spring.
This season, Vogel has led Indiana to a 20-14 record, the best in the Central Division so far. That success is in spite of the absence of leading scorer Danny Granger, who hasn't played yet this season due to a knee injury.
