Carmelo Anthony addresses altercation with Kevin Garnett

The Knicks star said he was ready to move on after the two “handled the situation” after the game.

While the incident between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony in Monday night's Knicks-Celtics game is unlikely to die in the popular imagination anytime soon, Carmelo told reporters on Tuesday that he is ready to put the whole thing past him.

In an interview with Chris Sheridan, Carmelo said he is satisfied with how the two handled the situation and doesn’t intend for the story to drag on any further:

“There’s certain things that you just don’t say to men, another man. I felt he crossed the line,” Anthony explained. “We have an understanding right now. We handled it the way we handled it. Nobody needs to know what was said behind closed doors, so that situation is handled.”

But while Carmelo may be ready to move on, the NBA office doesn’t appear to share that sentiment. According to a report from a Boston writer, the league is already investigating the incident.

Either way, the Knicks next game with the Celtics, a TNT game on Jan. 24, suddenly got a lot more interesting.
