Amar'e Stoudemire has suffered what has been called a "setback" by New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson, and will play fewer minutes when the team faces the Indiana Pacers on the road Thursday, according to ESPN New York.

Team doctors advised head coach Mike Woodson to ease the big man into mix after he played a season-high in minutes against Boston.

The instructions to limit the forward's court time were handed to down to Woodson by team doctors after he played a season-high 28 minutes in Monday's loss to the Boston Celtics. He's played in just four games in the 2012-13 season after undergoing a debridement procedure to repair his troubled left knee.
The big man admitted to feeling sore following the game, but didn’t go as far as calling it a setback.
The Knicks took a chance on Stoudemire in the summer of 2010 when he became a free agent. His injury history scared a lot of teams into shying away from signing him, but the Knicks did so with an uninsured contract because of his ailments.
