NBA preseason schedule: Jeremy Lin, Rockets host Pacers in Taipei

The Houston Rockets act as hosts to the Indiana Pacers in an early-morning game in Taipei.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

NBA action gets off to an early start Sunday as the Houston Rockets and Jeremy Lin face the Indiana Pacers in Taipei, Taiwan. The game featuring Lin's visit to his parents' homeland -- not to mention a big-time matchup of centers Dwight Howard and Roy Hibbert -- tips at 1:30 a.m. ET and will air on NBATV.

At 2 p.m., the Atlanta Hawks head to New Orleans to face the new-look Pelicans, who are 3-0 in the preseason thanks to impressive contributions from last season's 2012 first overall pick, Anthony Davis. The Phoenix Suns visit the San Antonio Spurs for a 2:30 p.m. tip in what should be a battle of contrasting styles -- Phoenix has pushed the pace to average 117 points through two wins so far.

The Memphis Grizzlies close out the Sunday docket with a 6 p.m. game against Israel's Maccabi Haifa and will have a good shot at earning their first preseason win. The Grizzlies are 0-2 and coming off a Wednesday loss to the Dallas Mavericks, but Haifa's tour of the United States has included blowout losses to the Suns and Pistons.

Here’s a peek at the entire NBA schedule for Sunday.
