Dwight Howard is known as being a guy who wants things his way while also wanting to be loved by everybody else. This was evidenced by the constant waffling about his future with the Orlando Magic, although his handling of that situation just ended up hurting a lot of people, by his own admission.
Dwight Howard upset Magic allowed Tobias Harris to wear No. 12
Howard expected love from the Magic, for some reason.

Howard is now a bit more comfortable playing a villain role if it means doing what's best for him, but he still has his moments where he wants to have his cake and eat it too. Take this example from a recent interview with Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, where the big man expressed his disappointment in the fact that the Magic allowed Tobias Harris to wear Howard's old No. 12 after the young forward was acquired in February:
“I just think that despite whatever happened, there was a lot of things that I did and that we did as a team, and that number was special down there,” Howard said. “And I was a little bit upset about that.”
Howard certainly enjoyed a lot of success in Orlando, and he did help lead them to an NBA Finals appearance. However, he never won a championship there, and considering the nasty breakup between the two parties is still rather fresh on everybody's mind, why exactly would the Magic make that number off limits?
To be somewhat fair to Howard, he may not know that Harris wanted to wear No. 12 as a tribute to a friend who had died of leukemia at 17 years old. But even so, Howard shouldn’t expect any love from the Magic organization at this time. Perhaps things can be patched up down the road, but for now, he’s still viewed as a villain.
