LeBron James built up quite the rivalry with the Boston Celtics over the years, suffering some of his worst playoff defeats while also delivering a few of his finest moments. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were key players in that rivalry, and now that they have moved on to the Brooklyn Nets, things are now revving up between the Nets and James' Miami Heat.
Kevin Garnett: LeBron just needs to ‘worry about Miami’
The bad blood remains between Garnett and James.

Earlier this week, James said he felt it was unfair that former Celtic and current teammate Ray Allen was vilified for leaving Boston, while Garnett and Pierce got a free pass. Following the Nets' 86-62 preseason pounding of the Heat on Thursday night, Garnett had a little response for James, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports:
“Tell LeBron to worry about Miami,” Garnett said. “He has nothing to do with Celtic business.”
He thumped the table and added, “Next question.”
James was certainly a bit off-base in his comments, considering Allen signed for less money in Miami while Garnett and Pierce were traded from a Celtics team in rebuilding mode. However, Garnett deleting Allen’s number and refusing to shake his hand last year was ridiculous in its own right.
In any case, there’s certainly no shortage of bad blood here, and with both the Heat and Nets in line to battle for Eastern Conference supremacy this season, these matchups are going to be a lot of fun. And would it be too much to ask for a playoff series?
