Preseason basketball is nearing its end, but there’s still some work to be done before the regular season tips off.
NBA preseason schedule: Wizards vs. Pistons, Jazz vs. Lakers highlight NBA TV doubleheader
Just five games on the NBA slate Tuesday as opening night draws closer.

The Washington Wizards and new-look Detroit Pistons will get things started in the first half of an NBA TV doubleheader at 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday from the Palace of Auburn Hills. Both teams have playoff aspirations, as John Wall looks to continue to build momentum after last year's late-season surge in Washington, and the Pistons hope to get their money's worth out of Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith. It's obviously early, but it's worth the watch as the two sides still have kinks that need to be ironed out.
Following the early game, the Utah Jazz head to Los Angeles to take on the Kobe-less Lakers. Game time is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. on NBA TV. Utah is in full-on rebuild mode and Los Angeles is staring down the barrel of an early-season absence from its star player and a rebuilt roster. It's difficult to know at this point what to expect from either team, but now's the time to find out.
The rest of Tuesday’s NBA preseason schedule (all times Eastern):
Indiana Pacers at Atlanta Hawks, 7:30 p.m.
Orlando Magic at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 p.m.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns, 10 p.m.
