Greg Monroe scored 18 points and added seven rebounds and five assists as the Detroit Pistons defeated the Washington Wizards, 99-96, at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Tuesday night. Five players scored in double figures in a balanced effort where the team shot 49 percent from the field.

Home teams were 4-1 on Tuesday night in NBA preseason action, with the Pacers notching the only road win of the night, in blowout fashion.

On the other side, Bradley Beal led the way for the Wizards with 17 points on 7-of-14 from the field and 2-of-4 from the three-point line to go along with seven rebounds, two assists and one steal. John Wall struggled with just 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting and was just 1-of-4 from the three-point line.
Kevin Seraphin notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Washington, and Andre Drummond neared the same feat for the Pistons with nine points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Indiana Pacers 107, Atlanta Hawks 89
David West scored 24 points and added seven rebounds to lead all scorers as the Pacers defeated the Hawks in a rout. Indiana shot 53 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three-point line to overwhelm the Hawks offensively. They were dominant on both ends of the floor, forcing Atlanta to commit 20 turnovers.
Jeff Teague and Mike Scott led the way for Atlanta with 17 points apiece. Scott did his damage off the bench on 7-of-8 shooting from the field and hit 1-of-2 looks from long range. Teague added eight assists to create plenty of offense, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Hawks' efficiency on both ends.
San Antonio Spurs 123, Orlando Magic 101
Paddy Mills came off the bench to lead the Spurs with 22 points as they beat the Magic at home. Kawhi Leonard added 19 points and five rebounds in the win while Marco Belinelli chipped in with 16 points.
Rookie Victor Oladipo paced the Magic scoring with 22 points of his own and filled up the stat sheet with six assists, five rebounds and one steal. He struggled with turnovers as he works to transition into a true NBA point guard as he had five giveaways on the evening.
San Antonio shot a stellar 53 percent from the field and held Orlando 45 percent. The Spurs shot 22 free throws against just nine for the Magic.
No Kevin Durant and no Russell Westbrook spelled trouble for the Thunder, who fell on the road in Phoenix. Gerald Green and Eric Bledsoe led the Suns with 15 points each, and Channing Frye added 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Also, Green did this:
Los Angeles Lakers 108, Utah Jazz 94
Jordan Farmar, back in Los Angeles after two years away, led the Lakers with 20 points off the bench on just seven field goal attempts in a 108-94 home win over the Jazz at Staples Center. Farmer, the UCLA guard who spent the first four seasons of his NBA career with the Lakers, led a bench effort that saw Los Angeles reserves outscore Utah, 74-41.
Former Laker Brian Cook led the Jazz with 18 points off the bench. Gordon Hayward added 15 for Utah, now 1-5 in the preseason.
