Quincy Pondexter agrees to $14 million contract extension with Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies have come to a four-year agreement with backup swingman Quincy Pondexter.

Update: The Grizzlies confirmed the extension Thursday, though they did not disclose financial terms.
The deadline to extend first-round picks taken in the 2010 NBA Draft and with the 2013-14 season left on their rookie deals comes when the calendar flips to November.
Pondexter, who was the 26th overall pick in 2010, began his fourth NBA season with a 13-point, three-assist performance off the bench for Memphis, which lost its opening game to the San Antonio Spurs, 101-94. The swingman out of Washington seemingly wasn't going to be Memphis' first contract extension agreed upon. Teammate Ed Davis reportedly had garnered interest too, but as of Thursday, ESPN's Marc Stein reported a deal was unlikely.
Pondexter averaged 6.4 points and 2.2 rebounds last season but averaged 8.9 points in 15 postseason games while shooting 45 percent from three-point range.
The value of the deal seems quite good for a player garnering more playing time even along with veteran starter Tayshaun Prince and free agent pickup Mike Miller. Pondexter is the sixth member of the 2010 class to sign an extension before the deadline, joining Wizards guard John Wall, Bucks center Larry Sanders, Jazz forward Derrick Favors, Pacers swingman Paul George and Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.
