Bulls lead Knicks 43-38 in first-half defensive struggle

Derrick Rose is struggling from the floor in his regular-season return to Chicago.

Derrick Rose has made his regular-season return to Chicago after an 18-month absence, and the Bulls have a 43-38 first-half lead in a defensive struggle with the New York Knicks.

The Bulls held the Knicks to 34 percent shooting for the first half and forced them into 12 turnovers. It's been the physical style of game preferred by Tom Thibodeau, but the Chicago offense has continued its struggles from its first game in Miami.

Rose has just four points on 2-for-11 shooting and just one assist, but the Bulls’ defense has taken care of its superstar.

Carmelo Anthony has struggled his way to 11 points on 3-for-9 shooting, and on top of the poor performance from the floor, the Knicks have 13 turnovers leading to 12 points for Chicago.

Luol Deng leads the way for the Bulls with 12 points on 6-for-11 shooting.
