University of Louisville guard Kevin Ware is fully healthy and cleared to practice, according to coach Rick Pitino during a press conference on Friday.

“He has a clean bill of health,” said coach Pitino. “He can play all-out at the end of the month.”

Ware was suffered a horrific compound leg fracture during the 2013 NCAA Tournament and just six months later is healthy and back on the court, and recently posted a video showing he can dunk again safely. Louisville would go on to win the NCAA Tournament without Ware, who was an inspirational figure on the bench and who cut down the net during the celebration after winning the tournament.

Pitino stated that Ware is fully healthy and physically can get back on the court, but may need some time to get fully mentally healthy and to get over the hesitation that comes with recovering from such an injury. Pitino suggested that Ware would be completely ready for action by the end of October.
