Kendrick Perkins suffered a gruesome-looking finger injury Saturday morning while playing with the Oklahoma City Thunder in an exhibition game in Istanbul, Turkey.
Kendrick Perkins injury: Thunder big man dislocates finger
The Thunder’s starting center suffers a cringe-worthy injury.

Here’s a video clip of the injury, which appears to be a badly dislocated ring finger, via Royce Young (WARNING: the finger is gross):
Perkins didn’t return to the game -- he played just 11 minutes -- and may be held out of some Thunder preseason games. As the commentators said, this kind of injury does tend to happen in basketball, and since Perkins isn’t exactly known for his shooting prowess, he should be able to play through it while it heals.
Perkins’ injury could open up some additional playing time during the preseason for first-round pick Steven Adams, who is trying to prove he deserves a spot on the Thunder’s 15-man roster. Former first-round pick Daniel Orton could benefit if Adams isn’t able to keep up with the international competition, but Perkins’ spot as a starter is secure.
