Nicolas Batum injury: Trail Blazers forward suffers concussion in practice
The Blazers swingman will sit out Wednesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

According to Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com, head coach Terry Stotts said that the injury occurred when Batum went up for a dunk attempt that was contested by Will Barton. After a collision, the swingman went reeling into the stanchion behind the basket.
In compliance with the NBA’s concussion protocol, Batum will now be subject to a series of tests, which he must pass in order to be cleared by the NBA’s concussion program director, Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, in order to return to the floor. The Frenchman could miss more time if he suffers any lingering symptoms such as sensitivity to light or headaches.
The 24-year-old scored 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, adding three rebounds and two assists in an 89-81 loss to Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.
