Ersan Ilyasova suffered a sprained right ankle in the Milwaukee Bucks' preseason opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night. Initial X-rays taken at the arena showed that there was no fracture, but the forward will undergo further tests on Wednesday, according to Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Ilyasova injured the ankle when he collided with Cavaliers guard C.J. Miles in the second quarter of the Bucks' 99-87 loss. Afterward, Ilyasova revealed how painful the injury was:

“I had twisted that ankle before but never that bad,” Ilyasova said. “We’re going to have another X-ray tomorrow and we’ll see.

“I can’t even step on it. It hurts that much but I will get a lot of treatment and try to get back. It’s really disappointing.”

Prior to the injury, Ilyasova recorded six points on 3-of-4 shooting in 10 minutes. The 26-year-old is just the latest in a long line of Bucks dealing with injuries this preseason. Carlos Delfino, Ekpe Udoh and Zaza Pachulia all sat out Tuesday's game with various ailments.

Ilyasova is coming off one of the best seasons of his career. Last year, he averaged 13.2 points and 7.1 rebounds while shooting 44.4 percent from long range.
