Chris Paul scored 42 points and the Los Angeles Clippers outlasted the Golden State Warriors, 126-115, in their home opener. Los Angeles scored 68 points in the first half and held onto the lead through the remainder of the game.

Stephen Curry had a huge fourth quarter, scoring 17 points and draining four threes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Warriors' defensive issues. Curry ended the night with 38 points, nine assists and was scorching from beyond the arc, making nine of his 14 attempts.
Paul went blow for blow with Curry in the fourth quarter and scored 15 points of his own in an entertaining duel between two of the NBA’s best point guards. Paul also had 15 assists and six steals, finishing with a double-double and putting on a show in Staples Center.
DeAndre Jordan dominated the glass, grabbing a game-high 17 rebounds. He had 10 offensive rebounds, helping the Clippers tally up 15 second-chance points. Blake Griffin put in 23 points and his back-to-back-back alley-oop dunks in the third quarter had Staples Center buzzing. The reports of Lob City's death have been grossly exaggerated.
Andrew Bogut scored 17 points along with six rebounds but didn't make a defensive impact for Golden State. His most notable moment was a shoving match with Jordan near the end of the first half that resulted in a double technical foul.
Klay Thompson put in 10 points after putting up a career-high 38 points against the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night. David Lee scored 22 points and fouled out at the 4:10 mark in the fourth quarter. Andre Iguodala notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists.
No player on the Warriors reached double-digit rebounds and the Clippers outrebounded Golden State, 44-33.
