NBA scores 2013: Derrick Rose hits game-winner, Chris Paul dominates

The NBA slowed down its schedule after a busy Wednesday night of basketball feature TNT's featured Thursday slate. The Chicago Bulls held their home opener against the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers invited a Pacific Division rival in the Golden State Warriors to Staples Center.

Derrick Rose is back and the New York Knicks found out the hard way. The Chicago Bulls took a double-figures lead into the fourth quarter, but the Knicks outscored the Bulls, 20-11, in the final frame and took a one-point lead with 10.8 seconds left in the game. Then, Rose made this happen:

Rose finished with a team-high 18 points. Carmelo Anthony led all scorers with 22 points but shot 8-of-24 from the floor. Anthony also had a chance to win the game after Rose nailed the floater but missed.

Chris Paul and Stephen Curry are two of the NBA's best point guards and they put on a show to follow up the Bulls-Knicks game. Paul scored 42 points while dropping 15 assists, three of which were back-to-back-to-back alley oops to running mate Blake Griffin. Here's a sampling and proof that Lob City is alive and well:

The Clippers survived a 17-point fourth quarter from Stephen Curry, who was blistering hot from beyond the arc. Curry finished the night with 37 points, making nine of his 14 three-point attempts. Klay Thompson scored just 10 points and was a non-factor after dropping a career-high 38 points against the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night.
