NBA D-League draft 2013: Ricky Davis highlights player pool

The 12-year NBA veteran is still gunning for a comeback.

Kirby Lee, USA Today Sports

The NBA D-League draft will take place Friday night, with the Tulsa 66ers, the Oklahoma City Thunder's affiliate, owning the first pick after acquiring the pick and Ben Uzoh in a three-team deal on Thursday night.

There are quite a few interesting names in the D-League draft pool, from veterans trying to get back into the league to relatives of notable NBA players. Let’s take a look at some of the possible draftees.

Ricky Davis: Yes, Davis is still trying to get back into the NBA. The 12-year veteran last played in the league in 2009-10 with the Los Angeles Clippers, although he did work out for the Knicks in September. Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski CLEARLY thinks Davis would be a fine pick:

Quincy Douby: Douby never did much in the NBA, but he certainly made a name for himself in China. Earlier this year, Douby set a CBA record by scoring 75 points in a game. He averaged 31.6 points for the year in China.

James Johnson: Johnson has been a pretty epic bust in the NBA, bouncing between the Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks before the Hawks waived him in mid-October.

DeAndre Liggins: Liggins played sparingly with the Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder the last two seasons before the Thunder waived him in September following an arrest stemming from a domestic violence dispute.

Salim Stoudamire: Stoudamire was a star sharpshooter at Arizona and last played in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks in 2008.

Charles Boozer: The brother of Carlos Boozer, Charles played for the Bulls' Summer League team in Las Vegas. Charles apparently can scream just like his brother.

Thansis Antetokounmpo: The 21-year-old brother of the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo. I wonder if Thansis' hands are just as big?

Keith Chamberlain: The cousin of New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis.

Harouna Mutombo: The cousin of NBA great Dikembe Mutombo.

The full list of players in the draft pool can be found at the official site of the D-League.
