The Orlando Magic fined forward Glen Davis an undisclosed sum on Wednesday for his actions in an Orlando motel over the weekend, the team announced. This comes after TMZ reported Tuesday that police had been called to an incident at a Travelodge in Orlando involving the seven-year NBA veteran.
Glen Davis fined by Magic for off-court incident
It’s unclear how much the Magic have docked the big man’s pay.

The problems began when Davis attempted to book a room early Saturday morning with the front desk, only to be told the building was already sold out. At that point, he “reached over the front desk and grabbed a keyboard, which he proceeded to rip from the front desk computer and throw across the lobby. Davis then stormed out of the motel in anger.”
Two police arrived on the scene after receiving a call from a motel employee, though law enforcement officials told TMZ that no arrest was made.
Davis gave a public apology for his behavior on Tuesday, but that apparently didn’t satisfy his employer. In a statement, Magic GM Rob Hennigan said:
“We will not tolerate or condone this type of behavior. As we have stated repeatedly, when a player puts on an Orlando Magic uniform, he is representing something much greater than himself. We expect our players to uphold a certain standard of conduct and character at all times.”
The Magic haven’t had Davis in the lineup this season due to a broken foot. He’s still being listed as out indefinitely, while his teammates lost a big game Friday night to his former teammates from Boston, just hours before his issues at the motel. Since the beginning of last season, he’s played in just 34 games.
He did post career-high numbers across the board in extended minutes last season, though, averaging 15.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
