Martin has dealt with ankle injuries throughout his career, but the Knicks' frontcourt depth is thin without Tyson Chandler, so having a consistent rotation could ease the defensive responsibilities on Andrea Bargnani. Martin has missed only one game so far this season.

New York has lost six of their first nine contests, and Mike Woodson has continued to experiment with his rotation and starting lineups. The Knicks have already tried four different starting lineups to start the season, and Woodson is expected to keep adjusting after losing three of their last four games.
Martin is averaging 2.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game to start the season.
