How the Wizards got past the Timberwolves

Coach Nick breaks down the game film of the Timberwolves and Wizards, which shows that John Wall’s defensive lapses hurt his team down the stretch.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Coach Nick went through this exciting game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards, showing you how both these teams run their offenses. The Timberwolves run a disciplined and old school high post motion, right out of the playbook of Red Auerbach and the 1960's Celtics. The Wizards run the standard pro sets but lack some attention to detail to make it as successful as possible.

While John Wall gets a lot of attention for his high flying offense, his defense let them down on several occasions. A crucial missed call in the last minute gave the Wizards an advantage the Wolves couldn’t overcome and left the hometown fans driving home happy.
