Bulls vs. Nuggets score: Nuggets lead 50-48 at half

The Nuggets hold a slim lead at the half despite a great start from Derrick Rose.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets hold 50-48 lead over the Chicago Bulls at the half Thursday night, fueled by their bench production. The Nuggets' reserves outscored Chicago's bench unit in the first 24 minutes, 23-3. Kenneth Faried has a team-high 10 points and five rebounds. Evan Fournier has nine points off the bench.

Derrick Rose is off to a great start, scoring a game-high 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He's been getting to the rim and finishing around defenders, an area he's struggled with since returning to action.

Mike Dunleavy is starting at shooting guard in place of Jimmy Butler, who is expected to miss two-to-three weeks with a toe injury and is not traveling with the team for a six-game road trip. He has four points, making two of his five shot attempts.

Chicago is controlling the glass, outrebounding the Nuggets, 29-22. Three Bulls starters are tied with a game-high seven rebounds.
