If it wasn't clear that the Brooklyn Nets are starting to lose faith after their 3-9 start, it's clear after forward Kevin Garnett's comments following Friday's 111-81 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The concept of the Nets -- big names, some aged, pieced together into a kind of super-team -- comes with a high level of risk. And so far, that risk is not paying off. Said Garnett, via Matt Moore of CBSSports.com:

“You’re going to have the business of basketball come into play, I’m sure, and management is probably going to do what they’ve got to do, and that’s out of our hands. We control our destiny, who we are as individuals and players, so you’ve got to, again, for the fifth time I’m saying this, you have to look at yourself and try to fix this thing.”
In 21 minutes of the Nets’ 30-point loss Friday, Garnett had eight points and eight rebounds, which is more than what the 37-year-old is averaging. Through 11 games, he’s putting up 6.7 points and 7.8 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game.
Injuries and age have taken their toll on the Nets. Andrei Kirilenko has only appeared in four games, Paul Pierce has not been effective, Jason Terry has been dealing with a back injury, and both Deron Williams and Brook Lopez missed Friday's game with ankle injuries.
Said Garnett, again via Moore:
“We’re trying to soul search right now and see who we are,” Garnett said. “Each individual has got to look themselves in the mirror and try and see what they can do better. Period. Point blank.
“We’re better than this, and we know it. I don’t know what it is ... a broken record? We keep playing the same old song and we’re playing the instruments, so it’s on us.”
