The $190 million Brooklyn Nets have stumbled out of the gates to a 3-10 start, but first-year head coach Jason Kidd still has the support of billionaire Russian owner Mikhael Prokhorov, according to Ohm Youngmisuk and Marc Stein of ESPN.
Jason Kidd has backing from Nets ownership despite rough start, per report
The Nets have been a disaster thus far, but the team’s billionaire Russian owner still supports first-year head coach Jason Kidd.

There have been reports that Kidd hasn’t been doing much coaching and that friction has been growing between him and assistant coach Lawrence Frank. This latest report acknowledges some “philosophical differences” between Kidd and Frank, but the Nets have been working to smooth out any issues.
Kidd took the blame for the rough start last week, acknowledging some bad coaching on his part. The Nets’ mostly disastrous third quarters this year points to a lack of in-game adjustments, which falls on Kidd and his coaching staff.
However, Kidd also gets some slack from ownership due to the variety of injuries that have plagued the team. Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, Andrei Kirilenko and Jason Terry are all currently sidelined, which makes the Nets a much less dangerous team. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce getting off to extremely slow starts hasn't helped either.
In addition to support from ownership, Kidd also has the backing of the team’s veterans. Garnett and Pierce both deflected some of the blame from Kidd, saying everybody must be held accountable.
