Michael Redd to announce retirement during Bucks game Wednesday

The sharpshooter has called it quits and will announce his retirement from the NBA.

Michael Redd will officially announce his retirement from the NBA during the Milwaukee Bucks home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday, the Bucks announced. Tip-off is 8 p.m. ET. Redd spent 11 seasons in Milwaukee, averaging 20 points per game through his career with the organization.

Redd tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee in 2009, ending his season early. The 2008-2009 season would be the last time Redd would average over 20 points per game. He returned to the Bucks lineup in for the 2009-2010 season but tore his ACL and MCL in the same knee and was sidelined for the remainder of the season.

He is the Bucks' fourth all-time leading scorer with 11,554 points. Only Kareem Abdul-Jabber, Glenn Robinson and Sidney Moncrief score more points in a Bucks jersey. He also holds the franchise record for points scored in a single game with a 57 point outburst against the Utah Jazz. in 2006.

He was also a member of the 2008 USA men’s Olympic basketball team that won the Gold Medal.

Redd spent one season away from Milwaukee, playing 51 games for the Phoenix Suns during the 2011-2012 NBA season. He last played in the NBA on April 25, 2012. Let's take a look back at some of Redd's career highlights.

Eight threes, one quarter
