Amar'e Stoudemire has struggled through an awful start to the season, and things didn't get any better on Tuesday. The former All-NBA forward recorded two points, three rebounds, one assist and five turnovers in 11 minutes of action, a glaring problem that is only now exacerbated by an injury to Tyson Chandler.

The $22 million power forward will have a strict minutes limitation for the next month, even with the injury to Tyson Chandler.

The severity of the injury to the right knee of Chandler is unknown at this point, but what's even more of an uncertainty is exactly what the Knicks will be able to expect from Stoudemire going forward.

Not exactly what you want to hear about a guy who’s making nearly $22 million on an uninsured contract. Regardless, there will be limitations on Stoudemire’s workload for the foreseeable future. Amar’e added that the recovery process has made it difficult to knock off the rust, but he’ll be seeing a limit of roughly 10 minutes per night for the next month — something he said is “pretty much set in stone.”
Stoudemire said the coaches are telling him that this is essentially his training camp, so they're being extra careful early in the season. But with Chandler likely to miss some time, New York has some issues in its frontcourt. If Stoudemire's minutes aren't going to increase in his absence, the Knicks will likely have to lean heavily on Kenyon Martin for the time being.
