Stephen Curry suffered a bone bruise and not a sprained ankle in the Golden State Warriors' 106-93 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, the team announced after taking an MRI on its point guard's foot. Curry is listed as day-to-day with Golden State's next game coming Friday against the San Antonio Spurs.
Stephen Curry injury: MRI reveals bone bruise for Warriors guard
The Golden State Warriors announced point guard Stephen Curry suffered a bone bruise on Wednesday, not an ankle sprain.

The point guard briefly left Wednesday’s game because of an awkward collision with T-Wolves point guard Ricky Rubio. After returning, Curry injured himself again by coming down on a player’s foot while attempting a floater in the lane. The injury was first reported as a bone bruise to Curry’s left ankle but the diagnosis changed to a sprained ankle -- a scary bit of news for the Warriors point guard considering his history of ankle sprains.
Curry left in the third quarter for good after playing 24 minutes against the T-Wolves. He finished with five points and seven assists on 2-of-8 shooting from the floor.
Curry is averaging 18.6 points and 9.2 assists per game this season. If he's unable to play Friday, backup point guard Toney Douglas could see increased minutes. Golden State coach Mark Jackson could also go with a bigger lineup and use forward Andre Iguodala as the initiator of the offense.
