New York Knicks forward Kenyon Martin will miss "at least two weeks" with a strained abdominal muscle, the team announced Tuesday. This came just hours after coach Mike Woodson told reporters that Amar'e Stoudemire would be "out for a while" with knee swelling.
Kenyon Martin injury: Knicks veteran out ‘at least two weeks’
The 35-year-old veteran big man will miss at least two weeks with a strained abdominal muscle.

The 35-year-old Martin left in the fourth quarter of New York's loss against the Celtics on Friday night. He did not play Monday night when the Knicks lost to the Washington Wizards.
Martin is playing just 19.5 minutes per game and is consequently averaging the lowest rebounds and points per game of his 13-year career. One would imagine that Martin would have received an uptick in minutes with the news of Stoudemire’s injury, but that hypothetical is no more.
Woodson planned to alternate Martin and Stoudemire’s minutes on back-to-back nights to save the aging bones, tendons and muscles of the injury-nagged veterans. Through 24 games, both guys had made 19 appearances each and both are averaging career-lows in minutes per game.
But sometimes there is only so much a coach can do to prevent Mother Nature from taking over.
