Second-year big man Anthony Davis will return to the New Orleans Pelicans' lineup Wednesday night as they face the Los Angeles Clippers. The emerging superstar missed the past few weeks with a hand fracture and initially hoped to return by Christmas, but the Pelicans announced the good news on Twitter:
Anthony Davis to return Wednesday against Clippers

Davis injured his hand in the Pelicans' 103-99 win over the New York Knicks on Dec. 1. The team initially played well without its star player, winning four of its first six games, but Davis comes back at a good time after consecutive road losses to Denver and Golden State.
Continuing a brutal road trip for New Orleans, the team plays red-hot Portland on Saturday after visiting the Clippers on Wednesday.
In 16 games this season, Davis has averaged 18.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals a night. His 28.18 PER -- which only marginally weighs defensive contributions, a place where Davis thrives -- ranks among the best in the league.
