Thaddeus Young has formally asked the Philadelphia 76ers front office to trade him, according to Liberty Ballers' Jake Fischer:
Thaddeus Young reportedly asked to be traded from Philadelphia
Apparently Sixers forward Thaddeus Young wants no part of Sam Hinkie’s tanking operation.

With the Houston Rockets supposedly ending trade talks regarding disgruntled backup center Omer Asik, Liberty Ballers has learned that one of the rumored names the Sixers were dangling has asked for a trade. Thaddeus Young, having been with the Sixers his entire career, has asked Sam Hinkie for a trade.
Young and his agent, Jim Tanner, submitted a formal trade request to Hinkie and the Sixers weeks ago, according to a source close to Young.
“Thad is ready to leave Philly,” the source said. “He isn’t with the whole tanking thing.”
The seventh-year forward has been with the 76ers for his entire career. The source who spoke with Liberty Ballers said Young was “anxious,” not wanting to wait around and lose games while Philadelphia tries to find the right deal. If the Rockets are indeed suspending their negotiations centered around Omer Asik, Young might have to spend a bit more time near the bottom of the standings. It sounds like that is decidedly the opposite of what he wants.
“Playing for the Sixers is wasting a year of Thad’s career,” the source told Liberty Ballers.
Young is averaging 15.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists for the Sixers, who have lost seven games in a row, 11 out of their last 12 and 15 of their last 17. Philadelphia’s two most recent losses have been by 34 and 36 points. Its record stands at 7-19 after a surprising 3-0 start. You can understand why a player approaching his prime would want out, but it’s not clear if the request becoming public will help matters.
