Philadelphia 76ers rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams is ready to return to the Sixers' starting lineup after missing seven games with a skin infection, the team officially announced via Twitter. Philadelphia has lost all seven without Carter-Williams, who was hospitalized after he noticed swelling on his knee and has been forced off the court since Dec. 3.

Carter-Williams made history along with Orlando Magic rookie guard Victor Oladipo when he was last active for the 76ers. Both rookie guards notched triple-doubles in the same game for the first time in NBA history. Carter-Williams finished the game with 27 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds.

Carter-Williams was selected 11th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft. He's had a standout start to his career, averaging 17.7 points, 7.3 assists, 5.8 rebounds and a league-high 3.1 steals per game. The Sixers' game against the Brooklyn Nets Friday is their last home game of the year, and they don't return to Philadelphia until Jan. 6.
