Houston Rockets backup point guard Patrick Beverley has fractured his hand, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Beverley injured his hand during the first half of Saturday night's game against the Detroit Pistons. The second-year player out of Arkansas had been called into the starting lineup after Jeremy Lin injured his back against the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 13.
With the injury to Lin and now Beverley, Houston’s guard rotation has become dangerously thin. James Harden sat out Saturday night’s game due to a sore ankle.
Point duties will fall to Aaron Brooks, who has been less than spectacular in his limited time. Brooks is averaging just 4.3 assists compared to 3.2 turnovers per 36 minutes this season.

It is possible that Houston will look to call up their first round draft pick Isaiah Canaan from the D-League to help shore up the rotation. Houston general manager Daryl Morey will need to find a stopgap with Beverley's injury hampering the championship-hopeful Rockets. Lin has already returned to practice, but a timetable has not been set for his return.
The Rockets are expected to release details about the injury on Sunday as more information becomes available.
