Atlanta Hawks first-round draft pick Lucas Nogueira will have doctors affiliated with the team help with the rehabilitation process of the severe tendinitis in his knees, according to Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Hawks’ Lucas Nogueira to rehab knees in Atlanta
The Hawks first-round draft pick will rehabilitate his ailing knees in Atlanta and Los Angeles.

Nogueira, a Brazilian native, suspended his contract with his Spanish League team to see outside medical advice and will split his rehabilitation time between Atlanta and Los Angeles. He is scheduled to miss two months before returning to Asefa Estudiantes Madrid.
He will use the same facility used by the Hawks -- Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic -- which will allow the team to monitor his progress.
The No. 17 overall pick in last summer’s draft, Nogueira played in five Summer League games with the Hawks, averaging 6.4 points, six rebounds and 2.4 blocks, while shooting over 62 percent from the field.
He returned for another season in the ACB League to continue developing and to add muscle to his slight frame, while the Hawks retain his rights. In 17.5 minutes per game this season, the 20-year-old is averaging 5.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
