Andre Iguodala denies George Karl’s accusation of being Mark Jackson’s ‘mole’

Andre Iguodala returns to Denver on Monday where he’ll play the Nuggets as a member of the Golden State Warriors.

When the Golden State Warriors visit the Denver Nuggets on Monday, the pregame storyline isn't about what happened between the two teams on the court, but what was said about what happened on the court. After Warriors coach Mark Jackson said he had inside information that the Nuggets were purposely playing dirty in last year's playoff series, former Denver coach George Karl accused Andre Iguodala of being Jackson's mole.

The Denver Post’s Chris Dempsey reports that Iguodala, who opted out of his contract with Denver this summer, denied the claim Monday as he returned to Denver as a member of the Warriors.

As Drew Garrison deduced earlier in December, all signs point to Iguodala indirectly alerting the Warriors of the Nuggets' plans to be physical -- whether they were crossing the line or not remains to be seen. According to Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News, Iguodala had told Warriors guard Jarrett Jack he was opposed to being extra tough on injured Golden State guard Stephen Curry, but Jackson in all likelihood took that to another level either to gain an advantage from the refs or fire up his team.

Jackson recently tried to sweep the issue under the rug for good, according to the Mercury News, and now that Iguodala isn’t making a bigger issue out of it, perhaps it’ll finally be put to rest.
