The Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin and the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade have been named the Players of the Week for games played from Dec. 16 to Dec. 22, the NBA announced on Monday.
Clippers’ Blake Griffin, Heat’s Dwyane Wade named Players of the Week
Blake Griffin and Dwyane Wade won Player of the Week honors for the West and the East, respectively.

Griffin averaged 26 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in wins over the San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Pelicans, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves this past week. He also shot 52 percent from the field. Against the Timberwolves on Sunday, he exploded for a season-high 32 points, shooting 11-for-20 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free throw line before fouling out in overtime. He grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds on Saturday against Denver.
Wade averaged 26.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and two steals in wins over the Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers. He shot a ridiculous 60 percent from the field. His running mate, LeBron James, averaged 24 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, 1.7 steals and somehow shot 69 percent from the field in those same three games, but the league was probably tired of giving James the award all the time. Wade was spectacular in Miami's huge comeback win over the Pacers on Wednesday, scoring a season-high 32 points on 15-for-25 shooting.
