Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has been ruled out of New York's game against the Orlando Magic with a sprained ankle. Anthony suffered the injury in the third quarter when he landed awkwardly on another player's foot.

The Knicks opened with a 24-point halftime lead against Orlando, but the Magic have begun an impressive comeback to get the lead down to single-digits in the third quarter. Anthony’s abscense will certainly hurt New York’s ability to keep Orlando at bay. Anthony had 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting (including 3-of-4 from three-point territory) before exiting with the injury.
A little adversity is nothing new for the Knicks this season, who entered the game at 8-18 overall. New York won 54 games a year ago, but an early season injury to Tyson Chandler exposed a thin frontline behind the starting center. Anthony has been one of the lone bright spots for New York this season, entering the game second in the league in scoring by averaging 26.5 points per game.
