Kobe Bryant spoke to media for the first time since fracturing his knee and vowed that his latest setback will not sideline him for the season, reports Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports. Bryant held a press conference prior to the Los Angeles Lakers' Christmas Day game against the Miami Heat.

Kobe Bryant wants to push hard to make it back on the floor as soon as possible after fracturing his knee.

Bryant is expected to miss six-to-seven weeks after fracturing his knee against the Memphis Grizzlies just six games after making his season debut. Bryant said he "owes it to the team" to push back and come back as as possible. The Lakers are currently 13-15 on the season, keeping their record near the .500 mark despite another season filled with injuries.

There is still no timetable on Steve Nash making a return since dealing with nerve issues in his back, Steve Blake is expected to miss at least another month with a torn ligament in his elbow and Jordan Farmar is making his return after missing four weeks with a torn hamstring.
