Al Horford has suffered a complete tear of his right pectoral muscle, the Atlanta Hawks officially announced in a press release on Friday. Horford suffered the injury during the Hawks' double-overtime victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday night.
Al Horford injury: Hawks big man suffers right pectoral muscle tear
Al Horford has torn his right pectoral muscle just one season removed from tearing his left pectoral.

The injury occurred during the first overtime period and did not appear to involve contact. Atlanta took a timeout after Horford reached for his right shoulder, clearly in pain. He immediately went to the locker room and missed the remainder of the game.
This is the second pectoral tear Horford has suffered in the last three seasons. He tore his left pectoral muscle during the 2011-2012 season, forcing him to miss 55 of the team’s 66 games. The Hawks have not announced a timetable for his return, though his previous tear indicates it could potentially be season-ending.
Horford averaged 18.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for Atlanta, leading the team in both categories. The Hawks have gone 16-13 so far this season, good for the third-best record in the Eastern Conference.
