Los Angeles Lakers guard Xavier Henry has a bone bruise in his right knee and will be out of the lineup for 7-10 days before being re-evaluated, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN. Henry suffered the injury on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers and had an MRI on Monday.
Xavier Henry injury: Lakers guard out 7-10 days with bone bruise in knee
Another day, another injury to a Los Angeles Lakers guard.

When head coach Mike D’Antoni met the media following Monday’s practice, the results of the MRI hadn’t come in yet. He joked about the current state of the Lakers backcourt, via McMenamin:
D'Antoni on X. Henry: "He’s sore, but we hope it’s not bad. But, being a point guard, we don’t know. He might be out a couple years."
— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) December 30, 2013 Henry is a natural shooting guard but had been playing the point due to the team's injury woes. Steve Nash and Steve Blake are out of the lineup already, and Jordan Farmar sat out of Monday's practice to rest his hamstring.
Kendall Marshall was not expected to be in the rotation on Sunday but had a solid showing off the bench after Henry hurt himself, finishing with eight points and three assists in 16 minutes against the 76ers. Marshall shot 2-for-3 from behind the three-point line. He figures to continue to receive playing time in Henry's absence, and his contract will become guaranteed for the rest of the season if Los Angeles doesn't waive him by Jan. 7.
Henry is averaging 10.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 21 minutes per game on the season. It sounds like the earliest he could come back would be on the Lakers' road trip next week. They play in Dallas next Tuesday and Houston next Wednesday before returning to Los Angeles to face the Clippers in a "road" game next Friday.
