Raptors locker room reacts to Rudy Gay trade

The Toronto Raptors locker room reacts to the Rudy Gay trade just hours before game time.

Footage of the Toronto Raptors locker room's reaction to the Rudy Gay trade was released on a television program called "Open Gym" that airs on NBA TV Canada. The locker room reaction begins around the 10-minute mark in the video and is narrated mostly through an interview with Steve Novak.

Veteran big man Aaron Gray is seen hugging his teammates and saying his goodbyes, while second-year forward Quincy Acy is visually upset, sitting in a chair in front of the lockers. Terrence Ross, also in his second year, wasn't traded but is emotional, trying to cope with seeing his friends go.

Gay was traded just before the Raptors played the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 8. Toronto won that night, 106-94, and is 7-3 since parting ways with Gay.

It’s not every day that you get an inside look at the workings of a locker room in the wake of a trade. It’s intriguing to see how players deal with the business side of the NBA.
