New Orleans Pelicans waive Lou Amundson
The Pelicans have waived Amundson after signing him just more than one month ago.

The Pelicans signed the veteran big man on Nov. 12, presumably to add front court depth. In 345 career games, Amundson, 31, has averaged 3.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Never the most talented player on the floor, Amundson provided defensive minutes and hustle as a bench reserve.
New Orleans has won three of its last four games, with the latest win coming over the hot-handed Portland Trail Blazers. At 14-15, the Pelicans are just three games out of a playoff spot.
Releasing Amundson puts the active roster at14 players, opening up one spot if the team chooses to look for help before making a playoff push.
