Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley is reportedly out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand, according to Mark Berman of My Fox Houston. Beverley said that there is no doubt he will return before six weeks are up, however. He suffered the injury in the first half against the Detroit Pistons on Dec. 21.

The second-year guard out of Arkansas has started in 24 of the 25 games he’s appeared in this season, averaging 9.6 points and 3.9 assists per game. Beverley has served primarily as one of Houston’s best on-ball defenders, defending both guard positions despite giving up size to most opponents.
Beverley also has the ability to knock down open three-point shots, a must in Houston’s offensive scheme. The 6’1 guard has netted 33.3 percent of his long-range attempts, while shooting more than four per game.
Jeremy Lin has filled in admirably as the starting point guard in Beverley's absence. After Lin, however, Houston's point guard rotation is a little thin. Aaron Brooks, the third point guard in the rotation, has filled in off the bench with mixed results. Houston's most reliable rotation, and the one it used before Beverley's injury, is starting the Arkansas product at point guard and bringing Lin off the bench as the primary ball handler.
