Kyle Korver will start for Hawks, can match 3-point shooting mark

After missing four games with a rib contusion, Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver will start Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, and he can tie Dana Barros for consecutive games with a made three-pointer.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that guard Kyle Korver will return from a rib contusion that kept him from the last four games. That means Korver, who will be in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, will be able to tie Dana Barros' NBA record of 89 games played with a made three-pointer.

Korver told the Atlanta Journal Constitution earlier Wednesday that he was feeling much better. He didn't know when he injured his ribs, but in a game Tuesday against the Orlando Magic, he was in a good deal of pain. The result was a 1-for-6 shooting game, the only make coming on a three-pointer that extended his streak of games with made threes to 88.

Since the game against the Magic, Korver hasn't played against the Rockets, Mavericks, Wizards and Spurs. Lou Williams has started but will move back to the bench unit upon Korver's return.

On the season, Korver is averaging 11.7 points on 50 percent three-point shooting.
