Luol Deng missed the Chicago Bulls' game against the Detroit Pistons Saturday due to swelling of his Achilles tendon, reports Nick Friedell of ESPN. Deng tweaked it during the Bulls' victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday and it swelled up on the following day. He underwent an MRI and the results came back negative.

The Bulls are off until Tuesday, when they host the Milwaukee Bucks. Tuesday is also the beginning of a stretch where the team will play four games in five nights. Deng said he will try to play in Chicago's next game but will have to see how his Achilles responds to treatment over the next two days, reports Friedell:
“I want to get back as soon as I can,” Deng said. “We’re going to treat it these next two days. My mindset is to be ready for the next game. If I feel like I can run out there I’ll play. I don’t know about the minutes, I don’t know how much I’ll play, but where it’s good enough and comfortable enough to be effective out there.”

Chicago is dealing with an array of injuries. Jimmy Butler still hasn't returned from his toe injury, Mike James is suffering from a sprained MCL and Derrick Rose is out indefinitely. The Bulls clearly missed Deng, their leading scorer, during their loss to the Pistons. Chicago scored a paltry nine points in the third quarter as a team, shot 33 percent on the night and Tom Thibodeau played just eight players through the game.
The Bulls have not put an official timetable on Deng’s return.
