Memphis Grizzlies forward Quincy Pondexter suffered what was called a midfoot sprain during a Saturday loss to the Golden State Warriors, but the injury diagnosis is now much worse. Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed Tom Lorenzo's report that the reserve swingman will miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his right foot.
Quincy Pondexter injury: Grizzlies reserve out for year with stress fracture of foot
The Memphis Grizzlies could be without Quincy Pondexter for the rest of the year after a midfoot sprain was revealed to be a stress fracture.

The team has yet to rule Pondexter done for the year and announced he is “out indefinitely.” Memphis said an MRI revealed that he suffered a tarsal navicular stress fracture.
Whatever the case may be, Pondexter's injury is a painful blow to Memphis, which has struggled to get on track under first-year coach Dave Joerger. It hasn't helped matters that center Marc Gasol suffered an MCL sprain more than two weeks ago, guard Jerryd Bayless has struggled mightily, and forwards Zach Randolph and Ed Davis have been banged up.
Pondexter signed a four-year, $14 million contract extension this season and, like Bayless, was not scoring with efficiency thus far in 2013-14. The fourth-year swingman out of Washington was averaging 6.3 points per game and shooting just below 40 percent from the floor.
Last postseason, Pondexter proved invaluable as a bench scorer and averaged 8.9 points in 15 playoff games while hitting 45 percent of his three-point shots.
