The Boston Celtics took another blow to their backcourt on Tuesday, as sources confirmed to ESPN's Chris Broussard and the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn that guard Leandro Barbosa is done for the season with a torn ACL.

After the Boston Celtics lost Rajon Rondo to a torn ACL in January, teammate Leandro Barbosa was lost to the same injury on Monday and will also miss the rest of the season.

Barbosa injured his knee during a non-contact play on Monday night during Boston's game against the Charlotte Bobcats. An MRI taken on Tuesday confirmed the injury that the Celtics feared.
Averaging 5.2 points per game and 1.4 assists, Barbosa's injury comes weeks after Boston lost starting point guard Rajon Rondo to the same injury. And thus, the hit is more painful because Barbosa's role has significantly increased since Rondo went down. He was averaging eight points per game in the eight games since Rondo's season ended.
CSN Northeast reports that the Celtics could look to sign D-League point guards Shelvin Mack or Andre Barrett, or go after free agent Jannero Pargo.
The Celtics lost to Charlotte on Monday night, their first defeat in the past eight games. Along with Rondo, Barbosa joins rookie big man Jared Sullinger, who is out for the year with an injured back.
