Even though the NBA trade deadline is right around the corner, Houston Rockets fans shouldn't expect their favorite team to make a move. According to USA Today, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey quelled any trade rumors surrounding his team, saying that the Rockets will wait until the summer before making another big move.

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey told USA Today that he isn’t expecting to make any moves at the trade deadline -- and that Houston will wait until this summer, when Houston can use its cap room on big-name free agents.

Houston acquired James Harden from Oklahoma City prior to the season, but Morey told USA Today that the team won't be acquiring another star through trade -- not this year, at least.
“Most likely, it’s not going to be through trade,” Morey told USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday. “Most likely, it’s going to be through the use of our cap room where we have max room this summer.
“I think (the time between now and the deadline) is going to be quiet. Of course a year ago, if you would’ve said, ‘James Harden - what about him?’ I would’ve said, ‘No way. They won’t trade him.’ You never know. You stay opportunistic. But I would guess that this trade deadline is going to be quiet.”
In the October blockbuster, Houston sent Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, two first-round picks and a second-round pick to the Thunder in exchange for Harden, Cole Aldrich, Daequan Cook, and Lazar Hayward.
Despite the blockbuster trade to start the year, the Rockets find themselves in eighth place in the Western Conference -- with a two-and-a-half game lead over the Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the conference.
If Morey is to be taken at face value, then the Rockets won’t be receiving any reinforcements around the trade deadline, as Houston aims to fend off Los Angeles Lakers in the final two months of the regular season. Instead, Morey and Houston’s front office will wait until this summer, and attempt to lure a big-name free agent to Houston.
