The Los Angeles Clippers closed out a strong first half of the 2013 season on Thursday night, beating the cross-town Lakers, 125-101, at the Staples Center. All five starters scored in double-figures for the Clippers.

All five Clippers starters scored in double figures, led by Chris Paul who finished the evening with 24 points and 13 assists. Blake Griffin added 22 points, Chauncey Billups had 21, Caron Butler had 13 and DeAndre Jordan scored 11 for the Clippers, who now heads into the All-Star break with the third best record in the West. At 39-17 overall, the Clippers trail only the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference standings.
The Lakers will go into the break at 25-29 after dropping their third game in the last five. Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles with 20 points and 11 assists, while Dwight Howard added 18 points and eight rebounds.
Antawn Jamison scored 17 points off the bench for the Lakers, who head into the All-Star break in 10th place in the Western Conference.
