According to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, D’Antoni is intrigued by the possibility of adding Bell to the roster. The 36-year-old is a two-time All-Defensive Team selection and is known for his ability to lock down scorers.
He signed with the Utah Jazz in 2010, but has not played in 2012-13 after being exiled by the team. In addition to his defense, Bell would be a good fit in the Lakers' new system as a perimeter shooter. He is 20th all-time in three-point percentage, with a 40.6 percent mark for his career.
Despite being another aging veteran, Bell is still the kind of player who could thrive in a multiple-guard offense. In 2011-12 with the Jazz, he shot 39.1 percent from the three-point line on 3.9 attempts per game.
