Lawson led the way for the Nuggets with 26 points on an efficient 8-of-13 from the field, adding six assists and six rebounds. Danilo Gallinari tied Lawson's game-high with 26 points of his own for Denver (34-21) to go along with five rebounds and five assists.

The Nuggets committed just seven turnovers on the evening and used a 29-20 third quarter to get back into the game after being down by as many as nine points in the first half.

Jeff Green led the way for Boston (28-25) with 20 points off the bench and added two blocks. Avery Bradley continued to fill in for the injury-depleted Celtics with 17 points. Kevin Garnett had 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Celtics lost the tightly contested tilt largely because of ineffectiveness on the glass, as the Nuggets outscored the C’s in the paint by a margin of 46-39. Denver shot 52.9 percent from the field in the third quarter and held Boston to just 36.8 percent to help secure the win.
