According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Suns will have to make a move on their roster in order to accommodate their latest addition. As a result, a buyout and release scenario is expected if they can’t trade him prior to the Feb. 21 noon deadline.

O’Neal, a six-time All-Star, is averaging 7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per contest in 2012-13. For his career, he’s averaged 13.4 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Since it's a foregone conclusion that he will be out of Phoenix, speculation has already begun as to where he'll end up. Marc Stein of ESPN reports that the New York Knicks could end up as the top suitors for his services. New York could use some depth in the frontcourt as they prepare to make a run into the postseason.
